How to Study that in the Bible which is For Today

Starting out studying the Bible can be a daunting experience. It is a large book for modern society, it can also be intimidating.

Many begin with a ‘Bible-in-a-year’ reading programs which can be helpful once you understand the structure of the Bible, but detrimentally you don’t get to the instructions written specifically to us and for us as written by Paul as “the Apostle to the Gentiles,” until late the fall of the year!

Don’t let intimidation stop you from digging in. If you’ve just recently been saved or have not really studied the Bible, I would recommend Paul’s book to the Romans. Read it through multiple times. It will ‘stablish’ you in the faith of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery.

You Start with Romans:

  • Romans 1-2 teaches us about the human condition and our sin-laden condition.
  • Romans 3-5 teaches us salvation by grace apart from Israel’s law.
  • Romans 6-8 teaches us what God did for you by the cross of Christ to how to live under God’s Grace program for Gentiles.
  • Romans 9-11 teaches us about the status of Israel with its rejection of the Messiah, being ‘set aside’ while God is executing His program of Grace for the Gentile “body of Christ.”
  • Romans 12-16 teaches us how to consider and how to behave towards others, rulers, and weaker believers.
