Part 3 – Our One God-ordained Work

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called The Proper Mindset for Christian Living.

There is One Work’ for Us is … it is to believe, meaning; ‘to trust in, cling to, and rely upon Christ.’

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God [the Father], that ye believe on him [the Son] whom he [the Father] hath sent.

We Can Hear Him in Our Spirit and… we are to follow His prompting and His inner restraining.

John 8:47a He who belongs to God hears what God says

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

We Walk in accord with the innermost Sense that we have by of the indwelling “Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:2 For the law (Gk., nomos, the regulating power) of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law (the regulating power) of ‘sin and death.’

Galatians 5:16 I say then, Walk in [accord with] the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust [desires] of the flesh.

Galatians 5:25 If [since] we live [have life] in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

When we “walk in the Spirit” … it is Christ walking out His will through us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh IN you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Being so richly endowed with His life and work in us, we are motivated to see life differently.

We see through’ our circumstances, to God Working for our eternal good in ALL the happenings of our life.

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Romans 8:2, 29 And we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 28to be conformed [Gk. symmorhos, jointly formed] to the image of Christ.

Our Mindset is upon Him, and we value the Eternal viewpoint over the Temporal.

2 Cor. 4:18 While we look not at [don’t be persuaded by] the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Our Home Is ‘Not of this World.’

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath [already] blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in ‘heavenly places in Christ:’

Philip. 3:20 (NIV) But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (We are His ambassadors (read 2Cor 5:16-21)

Our Best defense is a good offence. We should as Paul says, think on these things.”

Philip. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely (Gk. prosphiles, root, phileo, friendly), whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise… Think On These Things.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
