The Dispensational approach to Bible study teaches us to ‘identify the audience’ being spoken to or about in Scripture before assuming it is talking to us or about us. This process of ‘identifying the audience’ requires noting the ‘context’ of the words.

These two points, audience and context, are among them those most often Separate or Divide the instructions and operation of God into the two most ‘different and significant dispensations’ applying mainly to God’s ‘Two Different people groups – 1) the Law applying to Israel, and 2) The Grace of God, applying to “the Body of Christ.” Thus, that which applies to the ‘Nation Israel does NOT apply to today’s members of “the church… the body of Christ.”

From the time of Exodus 19:5 and the giving of the ‘Ten Commandment,’ Israel was under ‘the dispensation’ of “the Law.” Soon after that Israel received the 613 Mosaic Laws which includes more ‘Conditional Promises.’

“Now therefore, if ye [the Nation Israel] will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant [the Law], then ye [the Nation Israel] shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:” (Exodus 19:5 (KJV)

By contrast we of the Gentile “body of Christ” today freely enjoy “the dispensation of the grace of God” having no involvement in Israel’s Law program nor its conditional promises.

“… for ye [of the body of Christ] are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14 (KJV)

Paul calls this approach to the Bible “rightly DIVIDING the word of truth” saying; “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

Thus, Paul tells us how we are to Study the Bible. We must Divide what in the Bible belongs to Israel from what belongs to us as members of “the church… the body of Christ” during today’s age of the Pauline “Mystery” gospel of “the grace of God.”

The word “mystery,” as is often used by Paul, is the Greek “musterion,” meaning ‘a secret.’ In this case it refers to the formerly secret plan of God that is now revealed through Paul’s epistles. They concern His formation of the Gentile “body of Christ.” This ‘Mystery’ reveals the intimate relationship we as believers have with God today, being based upon “the [pure, 100%] grace of God.”

Below are several of the mistaken ideas of those who misuse the Bible by not “rightly dividing the word of truth.”

• As we’ve seen, you cannot insert yourself into Jeremiah 29:11 which is speaking to remnant Israel in captivity in Babylon.
• You cannot claim the 2 Chronicle 7:14 prayer of Israel in order to earn blessing upon the USA.
• You cannot insert yourself into the prayer of Jabez as if God would answer for you, too. Jabez lived under God’s covenant of the Law with Israel. The “Law” is always conditional, saying “if thou,” while today’s Pauline “gospel of the grace of God” is unconditional... as the “Gift of God.”
• Psalm 23 is speaking about physical blessing available for Israel during the Tribulation period, speaking of promises made exclusively toward Israel.

“He sheweth ‘his word’ unto Jacob [Israel], his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. ²⁰ He hath not dealt so with any [other] nation: and as for his judgments, they [the Gentiles] have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalm 147:19-20 (KJV)

• You cannot insert yourself into Jesus of Nazareth’s words; “he that hath seen Me Tim Tebow hath seen the Father” (a corrupted version of John 14:9). He was speaking to Israel. (Matt. 15:24)
• You cannot insert both ‘the Nation Israel’ and “the body of Christ” into James’ epistle. James 1:1 clearly identifies his audience as the “twelve tribes” of Israel in the very first verse… just read the words!
• a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.” (James 1:1 (KJV)

This may be a shock to many Christians, but ‘words’ actually mean something! So, we are to leave the words of the Bible as written … without misappropriating them.

It’s clear from God’s words that God does not like it when any people speak for Him things that He did not say.

“Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them NOT, Yet They Say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall Those Prophets be Consumed.” (Jeremiah 14:15 (KJV)

Thus, we should thank God that we live during “the dispensation of the grace of God” (Eph. 3:2), but then again, that is only understood and appreciated by those who practice “rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Now note how Jesus used ‘precise’ pronouns to identify His audience when making clear to Nicodemus that ‘the nation of Israel’ had to be “born again” by saying “YE [plural, meaning all the Nation of Israel] must be born again.” (John 3:7)

Here, the word “ye” is the plural pronoun referring to the ‘whole Nation of Israel.’ After all Jesus had said; “But he [Jesus] answered and said, I am not sent but [except] unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matt. 15:24 (KJV)

Then, Jesus used the word “thee” in John 3:5, “I say unto thee [Nicodemus].” “Thee” is ‘singular’ referring to Nicodemus individually.

Thus, ‘thee’ and ‘ye’ are always important words for interpreting exactly who the audience is for what is being spoken. But sadly, most all of the corrupted ‘modern’ so-called Bibles hide this truth by substituting the word “you” in place of both “thee” and “ye.” By them wrongfully substituting the word “you,” we really can’t know who exactly is being addressed unless we go to the Authorized King James Version or the Greek text.

So, be careful of all the so-called ‘modern Bibles’ such as NIV, NASB, ESV, etc. with their word changes and the elimination of words and whole Bible verses. These verses are totally missing when compared with the Authorized KJV.

1.   Matthew 17:21:  "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

2.   Matthew 18:11:  "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." 

3.   Matthew 23:14:  "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation." 

4.    Mark 7:16:  "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear." 

5.    Mark 9:44:  "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

6.    Mark 9:46:  "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

7.    Mark 11:26:  "But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses." 

8.    Mark 15:28:  "And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors." 

9.    Luke 17:36:  "Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

10.    John 5:4:  "For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had." 

11.    Acts 8:37:  "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." 

12.    Acts 15:34:  "Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still." 

13.    Acts 24:7:  "But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands," 

14.    Acts 28:29:  "And when he [Paul] had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves." 

15.   Romans 16:24:  "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."

16.   I John 5:7:  "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

Now, consider how that the New King James Bible Version (NKJV) has made more than 100,000 changes from the Authorized KJV. It omits the words “hell” 22 times, “blood” 23 times, “repent” 44 times, “heaven” 50 times, “God” 51 times, “Lord” 66 times. It is not a complete either.

• The words “devils,” “damnation,” and “JEHOVAH,” are completely omitted in the NKJV.

Now ask yourself, “Who could be behind such corruption of the word of God?” Might it be the Devil who is at work in most seminaries that develop these corrupted modern Bibles promoted under the guise of being easier to read?

• The NKJV publishers proudly say;

“One of the most significant features of the NKJV was its removal of the second person pronouns “thou.” “thee,” “ye,” “thy,” and “thine.”

Now you know how these Bibles have been corrupted by changing and eliminating the very words of the Lord’s Scripture and how His word is misused throughout Christendom today.
