Now we will explain why every human has this inherent unfulfilled desire that drives him, unless he buries it or denies it as some do.

The Bible tells us that the very purpose and function of the unfulfilled human “spirit of man” is …to become “completed” with the ‘dispensing and receiving’ of the Spirit-life of God Himself who “is a spirit” (John 4:24). The “spirit of man” was specially created to enable men to relate to, “receive” and become “one spirit” (1Cor. 6:17) with Christ’s “Spirit of life.” This is Christ’s resurrected eternal “spirit of life.” The “spirit of man” was made to be filled with Christ’s own “Spirit of life” (Rom. 8:2a) and become an extension and expression of Christ’s life on earth and in the universe.

You see, God placed this desire within every born human, so that in their seeking they would ultimately realize the truth of their need and yield to “receive” God’s love, grace, and eternal life that comes to us in the person of “the Spirit of Christ.” Only then will a man be filled and satisfied. Apart from receiving “the Spirit of Christ,” a man can never understand life and be satisfied; he would still be incomplete, remaining ignorant and unfulfilled.

Colossians 2:9-10 For in him (Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. ¹⁰ And YE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:

So, as we’ve discussed all human roads to satisfying this deepest part of our human being are powerless – self-effort cannot bring us to a self-fulfillment. There is only one way to get there - Only God can and will get you there. Man is unique among all the creatures of God, being made with a human spirit, as the precise receptacle organ meant specifically to relate to and ultimately “receive” the very life of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The soul’s mind is able to think, but only the human spirit can contact, receive, and be filled with Christ’s life as the fulfillment of our inner search for satisfaction.  Every man needs to become completed in their spirit by receiving “the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” into their human “spirit of man” – to become “One Spirit” with Him and His eternal life. 

So, there are ‘two spirits; involved; 1) Christ’s “Spirit of life” and 2) our human spirit of man. These two spirits were made to go together – to become “one spirit” within us. Thus, the Apostle Paul writes;

“But HE THAT IS JOINED UNTO THE LORD IS ONE SPIRIT.” (1Cor. 6:17)

Before the cross of Christ, God and fallen men were at enmity and incompatible. But now, since Christ died and was “raised [from the dead] for our justification” …  paying for ALL our sins – past, present, and future, Jesus has fully cleared our sin-debt account. By His death justice has been served on our behalf!

Actually, to be ‘born again,’ as Jesus called it, is not just a legal transaction. To be reborn is actually to become “regenerated” (Titus 3:5) in our spirit by the indwelling “Spirit of life in Christ.”  This rebirth is organic… meaning it is ‘life-giving.’ When we receive “the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus” into our human spirit, we receive His very Life to be our new righteous and eternal life.

Christ rose from the dead as the “life-giving Spirit” (1Cor. 15:45). Christ is the life-bearing “Seed” of God the Father (1Peter 1:23). “Seed” is the Greek is “sperma” carrying with it the same inherited implications. The Father’s Christ-Seed, as the “life-giving Spirit” bears to us the very life, nature, and spiritual DNA and character of God our Father. Thus, God then is the literal “Father” of all who are born of His “seed, which is Christ” (Gal. 3:16). We then are “regenerated” to have the eternal life of the Triune God-head.

John 3:6 …that which is born of the Spirit [Christ’s] is [your] spirit.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of REGENERATION, and RENEWING of THE HOLY GHOST [Spirit];

Col. 1:27 … the glorious riches of this mystery (God’s plan), which is CHRIST IN YOU…

Rom 8:16 ‘Christ’s] Spirit beareth witness with our spirit, that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD.

To take Christ’s “Spirit of Life” into you is very easy:

Through His death of the cross, Christ solved the sin issue forever for all believers, paying their sin-debt. He shed His blood and accomplished perfect (complete) redemption for us. He’s paid for our sins that had separated us from God. Rom. 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

So, believers are justified and redeemed; all problems between God and us have been fully solved by the Cross of Christ. All there is left to do is … “receive Him” as our personal Savior.

John 1:12 But as many as RECEIVED HIM (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, even to them that believe (trust in and rely upon) on his name.

Just like the air enveloping us, Christ’s “Spirit of life” is now available, willing and able to fill the emptiness of our human spirit with His “Spirit of Life.” He is always available to come and dwell in any person who would “receive Him” by faith. We receive Him by simply opening our heart to trust in Jesus Christ alone as our Savior. We can come to Him believing He will receive us just as we are, warts and all.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹ Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

By opening your heart to call upon Him inwardly, you will be “saved” from your sins and judgment and from your past, for eternity… and He will fill you with His eternal limitless life.

“… Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…’ (Acts 16:31)

Immediately then, the “Spirit of life in Christ” will come into your human spirit and you will be ‘one with Him’… forever – never to be separated again. It’s that simple; immediately, deep within, something new will come to birth – something you have never experienced before.

This is Christ’s Life Within You, with the innermost sense of His peace and joy; with the security and satisfaction that grows out of your new personal relationship with the indwelling Christ. This relationship will grow day by day as you grow in grace and understanding through Bible Study. Your whole life will become changed from inside out… now around a new center, which is Christ within your spirit.

At last, your search has ended! You have become what in God’s eyes is a normal human who is filled with His life, just as God intended.
