Mankind is innately afraid of God and this dates back to Adam “by whom sin entered the world” (Rom. 5:12). We see this by the Biblical account of ‘the fall of Adam’ to sin.

When Adam first sinned, he should have gone immediately to God to beg for mercy and forgiveness. Instead Adam did just what millions of us do today: Adam ran and hid from God so that God had to come and look for Him, as it were, calling: “Adam… where art thou?” (Gen. 3:9).

“And they [Adam and Eve] heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. ⁹ And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? (Genesis 3:8-9 (KJV)

Apparently, previous to this time Adam and Eve were in the habit of fellowship with God, walking with him “in the cool of the day.” – for they recognized His voice.

Even today, many people who consider themselves as relatively good, as good those around them, or even better, nevertheless they feel utterly ill-at-ease in a place where believers pray together. This is because in their heart of hearts they know that they have “sinned and come short of the glory [righteous expression] of God” (Rom. 3:23).

They as all people, however, may freely come to know, love and enjoy God through faith in Jesus Christ. This restored relationship is available only because Jesus, who was God manifested in the flesh, came to earth in His Love To Pay For Our Sins On Calvary’s cross, Thus we can believe and to receive;

“redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7).

“…  for ye [who believe] are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14 (KJV)

Concerning those who respond in grateful faith and trust in the crucified, risen, glorified Lord for their personal salvation, the Apostle Paul wrote of:

“[Christ] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the Forgiveness of Sins:” Colossians 1:14 (KJV)

“Therefore being justified by faith, we [now] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: ² By whom also We Have Access [To God] By Faith into this Grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.: (Romans 5:1-2 (KJV)

Having such peace with God, and fellowship with God is the natural result of knowing our sin-debt has been fully paid; this is the most precious treasure the human heart can contain.

Yet our fellowship with Him here on earth is but the beginning. Read the verses below and see how Jesus Christ took upon Himself human form, and died for us, so that He might have us for Himself forever:

“… Christ … loved the church, and gave himself for it…  [so] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25, 27 (KJV)

To this you might say, “But I’m still not very holy.” You need to understand that if you are a genuine believer you are seen and counted by the Lord Himself as being “Holy” in God’s eyes. This is because Jesus by the Cross paid for all your sins – past, present and future.

Thus, God Has No Record of Our Sins… since that day when we first believed.

“But to him that worketh not, BUT Believeth on him [Jesus] that justifieth the ungodly, his Faith Is Counted For Righteousness. ⁶ Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth [counts as being] Righteousness Without [Good] Works,

⁷ Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities [sins] are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

⁸ Blessed Is The Man To Whom The Lord Will Not Impute [Count] Sin.” (Romans 4:5-8 (KJV)
