What God is Doing?

Before learning to discern God’s will through rightly dividing of “the word of truth” it is common to be on a lifelong journey to discover God’s will. Without right division the Bible is beyond understanding, so we look to our heart’s desires and life’s circumstances for clues to what it is.

Telling ourselves that the unknown outcome is in God’s hands, we take blind steps towards our own ends while remaining ignorant of His will.

This is all a deception, and the greatest one there is: we do our own will, and in hindsight call it God’s. It is a lie that God’s will is beyond understanding. It is a greater lie that we can do God’s will without knowing what it is.

  • If you do not know God’s plan and will, then you are not doing God’s will. To do God’s will you must first know it.
  • If you do not know God’s plan and will you cannot live a life in Christ. Ignorance of God’s will condemn us to death.
  • If you are ignorant of God’s plan and will, and continue to say you are living your life for the Lord, you are only deceiving yourself.

The truth is you are doing your own will, and calling it God’s. This is rebellion. Right division is a giant arrow pointing you to God’s plainly revealed will in the Bible. You can learn God’s will here in 1 Tim 2:4, Eph 1:9-10, 3:8-10; 1 Thes. 4:3, 5:16-18.

“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” – Eph 5:16

It would be wise to stop the search.

In this 10-Part series I draw from Shawn Brasseaux who so clearly explains what was at one time thought to be unknowable.

“Canst (can) thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection (the end)? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea” (Job 11:7-9 KJV).
