Roman Catholic priest, “Father” Dale Fushek, wrote of a question and his answer:

“When Did Sunday Become the Sabbath?

Part 8 - SABBATH DAY Law Breaking

Before we look at the four Sabbath day conflicts between Jesus of Nazareth and Israel's leaders, let's first consider that we should note that Israel was a that time a theocratic nation. Israel's religious leader, the Elders, Chief Priests, Pharisees, Saducees, and Sanhedrin were the ruling government of Israel, overseeing both the religious and secular life of Israel.

The True Sabbath

Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles (Rom 11:13). Paul says we are "under grace" and "not under 'the law" that was given to Israel. Romans 6:14b ... ye are not under the law, but under grace. The law was  not and is not for the Gentile "body of Christ," so any law regarding "the sabbath" is irrelevant to us as members of "the body of Christ."
