At the heart of the believer’s genuine spiritual growth and maturity is faith resting on the objective truth of our identification in and with the Lord Jesus Christ.

“he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” (1 Corinthians 6:17)

The Holy Spirit is not an ‘individual person’ of the Godhead as religious tradition teaches. Subjectively, the Holy Spirit is… the manifestation and actual bearer of the very life of God in Christ… conveying the nature, will, powers, and character, all that God is... to us “in Christ.”

Today there's lots of talk about being "spiritual." By this most mean one has some interest in that which is beyond the physical realm. Some may say of another, "He's a Christian you know, he believes in God and is quite spiritual." Well, the Devil believes in God and that does not make the Devil a Christian. For some this leads to the occult and other deceptions, but for some this may be the first indication of a spiritual awakening and that may lead them to find the Lord as their Savior.

We as believers are intended to live in union with Christ, subject to Christ as our counterpart, our Head, as if he were our husband. But, being free to be in union with Christ is no assurance that we are actually living in a submitted union with Christ. As regenerated Christian, we are objectively, forever saved in Christ, but we may not necessarily be subjectively abiding in union with Christ as our Head and “Lord” (Greek, kurious, controller). It is for us to remain abiding in union with Him, yielding to His indwelling life in our daily living.

The "Sense of Life" is the subjective personal consciousness we as believers have by the "Spirit of Life in Christ" in us. It is the normal experience of living by His life. The "sense" we have of His life is another, deeper, consciousness within us. It is the sense of Christ in us as the new us at our core.
