Christ is “the Fullness of Godhead” In the Believers

“… In Him [In Jesus Christ] Dwelleth All The Fulness of The GODHEAD Bodily. 10 And ye [the grace believers] Are Complete In [by your union with] him, which is The Head of All [hierarchical angelic] principality and power:” (Colossians 2:9-10 (KJV)

All that we as believers have gained of God has been received from God the Father … who is one with and in Jesus Christ (John 17:21, 14:9). For “God is spirit” (John 4:24) and He is ‘The Father’ “who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly place in Christ (Eph. 1:3). We already have this blessing in and by the Father’s Seed, Which Is Christ,” which rebirthed us spiritually, bears to us all that the Godhead now is.

The Father and Son of the Godhead is realized in us by the indwelling “Spirit Of [The Eternal] Life In Christ Jesus,” which has been deposited into and become “one spirit” with our spirit of man (John 3:6, , Zech. 12:1, 1Cor 6:17), thus Making Us Eternally One With “The Fullness of The Godhead.”

Paul says Christ “the Lord” now is “that Spirit,” by which believers can actually realize all that they have of God now and forever dwelling within them, being “one spirit” with ‘their spirit’ (1Cor 6:17).

1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us [believers] there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we [exist eternally] by him].

2 Corinthians 3:17 NOW THE LORD [Jesus Christ] IS THAT SPIRIT

Colossians 1:27 the glory [expression] of this Mystery [the Secret Plan Of God now manifested] among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU the hope of glory.

Today “the Lord Jesus Christ” is in His resurrected spirit-form with his human element added by His resurrection (Rom. 1:3-4). Lest there be any doubt that Jesus now is “the Spirit” … Paul says there is only “One Spirit” (Eph. 4:4). Paul then uses these terms relating Christ to “the Spirit”; “that Spirit,” “the Spirit of Christ,” “the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ,” “the Spirit of Jesus,” “the Spirit of Holiness,” “the Spirit of His Son,” “the Spirit of the Lord”all in referring to our Lord Jesus Christ since His Cross-death and resurrection.

Jesus of Nazareth clearly declared Himself to be one with “the Father.”

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

John 10:30 I [Jesus] and my Father are ONE.

Colossians 1:19 For it pleased the Father that In Him [In Christ] Should ALL FULNESS DWELL;

The God-man, “Jesus of Nazareth” lived, suffered, died, and was resurrected, and thereby Declared to Be the Son of God with Power (Rom. 1:3-4 below), thereby Adding His Humanity INTO The Divine Godhead, forever modifying the Godhead.

Romans 1:3-4 (KJV) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh [as Jesus of Nazareth]; 4 And Declared To Be The Son Of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, By The Resurrection From The Dead:

Thus, the Godhead became forever altered, having gained the actual human life experience of the Son of Man” who was formerly referred to as “Jesus of Nazareth.” He was born of a woman made under [subject to] the Law(Gal 4:4). Thereby, the Godhead today can be touched with the feelings of our [human] infirmities.” Note how that of Israel it is said concerning Jesus;

Hebrews 4:15 (KJV) …  we have not an high priest which cannot be Touched With The Feeling Of Our Infirmities; but Was In All Points Tempted Like As We Are, Yet Without Sin [Sinning].

First the eternal Godhead came into the world in the person of incarnated “Son of man” - “Jesus of Nazareth.” He was then mercilessly crucified, killed, buried, and resurrected. The resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus brought Jesus’ human element with His personal human experience of man’s sin, hatred and rejection into the Godhead.

Today, Jesus Christ’s “Spirit of life” includes both the divinity of “the Son of God and the humanity of “the Son of man who tasted of the same human life and experience in this world we live in.

Today the “Spirit of Christ” in us now Completes The Believer’s Creation (Col 1:10 below) with Jesus Christ’s everlasting resurrection life as the fullness of the [now completed] Godhead,” with the human element of Jesus of Nazareth’s human experience.

Colossians 2:9-10 (KJV) For in him [in Jesus Christ] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye [the grace believers] are complete in [union with] him, which is the head of all [the angelic] principality and power:

Note that Paul’s emphasis is always upon the crucified and resurrected “Christ who is our life (Col 1:27), not Jesus of Nazareth who had come in His earthly ministry only “to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Matt 15:24, 10:5-6) as a “minister of the circumcision [Israel]” (Rom. 15:8).

Have you ever noted that Paul, as “the Apostle to the Gentiles,” never once references anything that Jesus of Nazareth said or did during His earthly ministry toward IsraelEXCEPT that of The Cross, which is the heart and very basis of our entire Christian salvation and life.

The resurrected Christ is “the fullness of the Godhead,” now as a purely ‘spirit-being’ indwelling us as members of His glorified ‘spirit-body’ that Paul calls “the body of Christ.” Yet, we will SEE Him “as He is (1John 3:2) when He comes “in the clouds” and we are “caught up” [raptured]” to Heaven (cf. 1Thes. 4:13-18).

The resurrected Christ is now “that Spirit” and “the head of the body” (Col 1:18), as He indwells every believing member of “the body of Christ” (1Cor 12:27). When we first believed we unknowingly were baptized (set or placed) not into water but into the body of Christ.”  Thus, this is a dry baptism.

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized [dry immersed] into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)

We together are called “the church, which is His body(Eph 1:22b-23a). Every believing member of “the church, which is His body” also personally contains “the fullness of the Godhead” (Col 2:9) by Christ in them. Today the risen Lord, now as “the Spirit” is the reaching out of the Godhead who indwells every believer, personally (Col 1:27). This is not the same as or to be compared with the Old Testament and before Paul’s revelation of “Christ according to the revelation of the mystery [secret] (Rom. 16:25). Previously, in the Old Testament, God’s Spirit only came “among” or “upon” to be “with” certain people (i.e., Israel’s fathers and Prophets) of that time.

1 Samuel 10:6 And the Spirit of the Lord will come UPON Thee;

Haggai 2:5 I [the Lord] covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth AMONG You: fear ye not.

Psalm 51:11 [David wrote] Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

The Spirit of the Lord “WITH,” “UPON” and “AMONG” cannot be compared to the indwelling of “Christ IN YOU” (Col. 1:27), whose very life we enjoy. “The Spirit” In Us is our life and for our realization of the very life, salvation, righteousness, peace, wisdom, sanctification, and joy found in union with Christ.

Rom 14:17 the kingdom [realm] of God is not meat and drink [what we eat or drink]; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

In fact, all the attributes and benefits of the Godhead life are … in Christ; and they come to usby the indwelling Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.” All believers bear Jesus Christ’s life with the spiritual DNA of the Godhead, (Col 3:4a), that is … His very nature (2Peter 1:14).

Jesus in His earthly ministry had been with the disciples in His human form when He so often spoke to them. But it was only after He was crucified and ascended, that He returned as that “well of water of life springing up to everlasting life” to indwell his believing “little flock” remnant of Israel (Luke 11:32).

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give (bring forth in] him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give (bring forth to) him shall be IN HIM a well of WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.”

As seen throughout the Bible, “water flowing” is always a metaphor for the living “Spirit” as we see by the above verse and also by the New Jerusalem’s “river of life” that flows out from the throne of God bringing life wherever it flows in the eternal Kingdom on earth (Rev 22:1).

Psalms 36:7-9 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! …thou shalt make them [the eternal Kingdom’s residents on earth] drink of the river of thy pleasures. 9 For with thee (O God) is the Fountain Of Life: in thy light shall we see light.”

Let’s now compare two related Scriptures that will prove that Jesus as “the Spirit” is the “well of water” and the “everlasting life” in believers. First note that in John 4:14 (below) that Jesus told the Samaritan women He is the source of the indwelling spiritual “well of water” that shall be “in him [in the believer]” as “everlasting life.”  (Jn. 4:14). Now compare this to John 7:38-39 (below). This makes clear that it is Jesus’ resurrected “Spirit of life” is the “river of living water in believers … which would only become available after Jesus’ Cross and resurrected, and then “glorified.” Therefore, we have proof that “the Spirit,” which is “the Spirit of Christ,” and “the Holy Spirit” are in fact the same “water” and “Spirit.”

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I [Jesus] shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be IN HIM a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:38-39 (Darby) He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 But this he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive; for [the] Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Paul tells us today there is only One Spirit in Eph. 4:4. Then also Jesus told Israel He is “the way, The Truth, and the life” (Jn. 14:6). We can deduce from John 4:17 below that Jesus Christ is the Spirit of truth.” All you have to ask yourself is this: Who was with the disciples when He spoke this below to them?

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth… but Ye Know Him; for He [presently] Dwelleth WITH You, and shall be IN You.

There is only one genuine “life” (Grk. zoe. Eternal Spirit of life) in the universe and that is the everlasting life of the One “God (who) is Spirit” (John 4:24). Paul writes, the Spirit is life (Rom 8:2) and Christ is our life (Col 3:4),” so “the Spirit and Christ are One as the real “life,” which is the one “Spirit of life,” within all believers.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life…

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth [gives life]

Romans 8:2the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus ….

Col. 3:4a When Christ, who is our life, shall appear…

Having the foregoing, we could then say; “The Spirit” consist of; God the Fatherin Christ… now as the resurrected Spirit of life.” Note here again who it is that is indwells every genuine believer as their ‘life-giver.’

1 John 4:13 Hereby know we that we [the believers of Israel] dwell in him [Christ], and he [Christ] in us, because He [Christ] Hath Given Us of His Spirit.

Romans 8:8-10 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God [the Father] dwell IN YOU. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be IN YOU, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

1 Cor. 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made (became) a living soul; the last Adam [Jesus Christ] was made a quickening (life-giving) spirit.

Under “the Law” of the Old Testament Israel, as seen still in the Gospels and on into the early Acts period, Israel was still God’s chosen people, distinct from the Gentiles. Paul who wrote of the truth of this age of “the dispensation of the grace of God.” – that there are no longer any distinctions among men…  neither by race, gender or status in life.

Colossians 3:1 Where there is neither Greek [Grk. ethnos, Gentile] nor Jew, circumcision [Israel] nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [slave] nor free: but CHRIST IS ALL, AND IN ALL [believers].

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for YE ARE ALL ONE IN [union with] CHRIST JESUS.
