“And ye (Colossian believers) are complete in him (in Christ)... ¹¹ In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:” Colossians 2:10-11 (KJV)

According to the Abrahamic Covenant, the Israelites were to circumcise their male children on the eighth day. Normally ‘the father’ performed this procedure, which made the little one a child of the covenant. Although circumcision did not save the child, it did give him a favorable position to enjoy the blessings and promises of God, which included ultimate salvation.

Interestingly, in addition to the religious rite of circumcision, “the eighth day” was significant in that we now know that the vitamin K content in the blood (clotting agent) is at its highest level during a lifetime.

The circumcision “made without hands” is “the operation of God” which simply requires our “faith in the operation of God.” This pertains to our ‘spiritual circumcision in Christ.’ 

In short, “the Father” surgically removed our sins when Christ was cut off at the Cross. An understanding of this truth will enable us to live a deeper life in Christ knowing not only that our sins are forgiven, but also that we have been freed from the dominion of the Sin nature, Christ-cross-work has rendered “sin in the flesh” (Rom. 8:3) of our bodies to now be powerless over those who will believe this Pauline truth.

When we first believed we died with and in Christ and experienced a multi-faceted “dry” baptism. This is just one of the several important facets to this truth.

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death (baptized not in water, but into “His death”)? (Romans 6:3)

“For he that is dead is freed from sin (Sin’s dominion). (Romans 6:7)

All that is left for us now as believers is to know and believe the truth and not to fall for the lies of the Evil one who would seek to deceive us, tricking us into sinning by fulfilling the lying desires of the flesh. The whole world system lies under the dominion of the Evil one and is an ever-present deception that we ought not to fall for.
