The Cure for Religion

Romans 6:14b  ... for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The word religion is found five times in the Bible. Each place teaches us something about religion. It is lear that Religion operates under strict enforcement of law; by methods of persuasion. Religion's Traditions abound; often being vain; and it requiring good works for accpetance.

On the other hand, the word grace as the free gift of God, aquired by faith is found over one hundred times in Paul’s ministry.

Grace is used in the context of phrases such as “ye are not under the law but under grace”, and the “gospel of peace.”

The apostle of grace, Paul, teaches us to avoid religion's tools: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ” (Col 2:8).

Elsewhere Paul says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).

Clearly the cure for religion is the grace and mercy of God.
