The Decisive Mystery Revealed

Tags:

THE Mystery [Grk. musterion, secret] of Ephesians 1, 3, 5 and 6 is different from other (Bible) ‘mysteries’ which are denominated in various ways.

THE Mystery is in accord with God’s “eternal purpose” (Eph. 3:11) and great plan of the ages (Heb. 11:3).

THE Mystery is not revealed until after the great dispensational Divide of Acts 28:28, which occurred in about 60 A.D.

After this notable time wherein Israel is once again “Lo-ammi,” meaning “not my people,” when Paul turns to the Gentiles. Paul writes the seven epistles of ‘THE mystery’ period to the church which [who] is His body(Eph. 1:22b-23a). This literal truth is spiritual as opposed to earthly or sensual. These post-Acts epistles will not be understood by others.

The epistles of “The mystery” are the last portion of the inspired word of truth to be written by Paul, they are Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I and II Tim., Titus, and Philemon. Some of these were written by Paul from prison in Rome. Chronologically, II Timothy is the last letter written by Paul before he was executed in Rome.

It is only from Paul’s epistles that we learn that “All Scripture” is written for us(for our learning), but not all Scripture is addressed to us’ or ‘about us,’ ‘concerning us’… so the Sciptures must be “rightly divided(2Tim. 2:15) as we read them.

If you are a faithful member of “His body,” the last seven epistles of Paul are written directly ‘To You’ and ‘About You.’ That is, if you have seriously recognized, acknowledged, and understand that Christ Jesus not only is your Savior but also HEAD” of “His body,” then you are one of His body members. You are a member of “the Church, which [who] is His Body (Eph. 1:22b-23a). You are then of those who were “chosen” according to Eph. 1:4, “… BEFORE the casting down [‘foundation,’ KJV, Grk., katabole, casting down, cf. Gen. 1:2] of the earth,” which began the earth’s regenerative age of today. This was long before the earth was regenerated and Adam was created as seen in Gen. 1:3-30.

So, all the Scriptures should be cherished by us, but not all will be so personal to us as Paul’s last seven epistles (chronologically).

Our eternal destiny is different from the remnant people of Israel and their Gentile proselytes who will dwell on the new earth. Our destiny as His “One Body” in “the heavenly places (in the ‘super heavenlies,’ “far above” (cf., Eph. 1:3, Col. 3:4). This is where our affections and treasure lie… ‘at the right hand of Christ’ (Col. 3:10-13) where He is ‘seated at the right hand of the Father’ (Eph. 2:6-7). Our “riches” there are incorruptible (Eph. 1:18-19) and could never be learned of anywhere but in Paul’s post-Acts epistles.

Being of and one with “His body” today;

  • We have no rituals holding us to observance,
  • We have No earthly religious organization to command our obedience.
  • No member of any of God’s families has the proximity to “The Head” as “His body.” Not even a “bride” is as close to her bridegroom as His own “body.”

What can be more direct than our relationship with Him as the members of “His body”? We of “His body” take our direct instruction from “The Head” of the “Body of Christ,” The Lord Jesus “Christ who is our life” (Col. 3:4). Not only has He paid the supreme price for our salvation, but also now He is our “Head” and Lord (Master).

The seven post-Acts written letters of Paul mentioned above are our present and infallible guides. They tell us;

  • Our sins have been paid for (Eph. 1:7).
  • We are His workmanship (Eph. 2:10).
  • We can now begin to understand the full dimensions of His love (Eph. 3:17-19).
  • We are “at one” with Him and the Godhead (Eph. 4:5-6).
  • We are looking for His glorious (heavenly) “appearing” (Tit. 2:12-13, Col. 3:4).
  • Our day-to-day written guides are found as simple, kind, and loving instructions in the final seven aforementioned letters of Paul

If we should pass to the grave before our Lord “appears,” He will raise us from our ‘rest’ and ‘present us’ with an ‘incorruptible, immortal, spiritual body,’ which will enable us to fellowship with all of “the faithful” saints of The Most High… eternally “in the heavenly places.”

For this we are ever thankful and Praise His Name!
