Forgiveness and Reconciliation, Unto Salvation

Death comes upon all mankind because of Adam’s ‘act of sin’ against God.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed [virally] upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12 (KJV)

By one man, Adam, the sin-nature came into the world of mankind, and by this sin death came upon all men. In believing the Serpent’s (the Devil’s) words, Adam took to himself, to his flesh body (Rom. 8:3b), the Sin-nature of the Devil.  It is the sin-nature’ in all humans, including believing Christians, that internally prompts us to engage in the ‘acts of sins’ of all kinds, such as misleading, lying cheating, stealing, etc., in addition to the most heinous sins that we see among mankind.

Therefore, death is not the result of our ‘acts of sin.’ Yes, an untimely death can be caused by our sin that may harm us. Death may come due to the ruin of health by sins against the physical body, such as overeating, drunkenness, or drugs. Death could also come through being executed by a state which has been outraged by one’s own heinous ‘acts of sin.’

As with any deadly virus, the viral ‘sin-nature’ has been passed on virally to all generations of mankind in the lineage of Adam. So actually, Adam had the choice of life or death for the whole human race. Adam chose death for the whole race, even as Adam was warned by God in Genesis 2:17.

If it were not for the fact that God, in His wonderful mercy, had provided us another life, that of His Son Jesus Christ, the whole human race would be without hope of the One real life, that is, the Eternal Life of Jesus Christ. Outside of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and the power of His resurrection to us who believe, every child of Adam would pass into oblivion, never to be remembered.

Our acts of Sin are enmity against God. Our sins evidence our innate antagonism, and hostility toward God as sons of Adam. So, by the death of Jesus Christ – HE obtained forgiveness of sins for all mankind so that He might remove the impartial penalty for that enmity. This the Bible calls reconciliation.

Thus, this reconciliation is universal in that it was for every believing child of Adam who would believe and trust in Jesus Christ’s shed blood and death and His resurrection. Nobody one is barred from receiving God’s reconciliation. This is the good news of “the gospel of the grace of God” that we preach when we declare that the sins of the world have already been forgiven. Today no one needs to seek for forgiveness … because forgiveness has already been freely made availableonly that now one must ‘believe to receive’ that forgiveness.

  • It is by the Jesus Christ’s incarnation, death of the Cross, burial, and resurrection that God established the way of universal Forgiveness of Sins’ that is now available to All mankind.
  • However, the Forgiveness of Sinsof itself is not Salvation.
  • Rather, the FORGIVENESS of sins serves to make peace between all men and God, RECONCILING’ them.
  • Thus, the Forgiveness of The Sins’ … Clears Away the Enmity (hostility) that was between man and God … so any humbled believing sinner may now freelyApproach God In faith’…

and thereby receive Salvation’ that comes to All the individual sinners who will believe.’

  • In the very moment the sinner first believes … Salvation comes to the believer in the form of their receiving’ the deposit of the Eternal “Spirit of Life In Christ Jesus” into their “spirit of man.”
  • Thereby imparting to them the very life and nature’ of the resurrected Christ.

You see, salvation comes to a believer… with and by … having received “the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:2a). This makes the believer a “new creature in Christ” … whereby “Old Things are passed away and All Things become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17).

“For the law [operative law] of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath [already] made me free from the law [operative principle) of [both] sin and death.” (Romans 8:2 (KJV)

This “newness of life” (Rom. 6:4) for believers is of the ETERNAL Life of Jesus Christ that is ‘immediately’ and ‘freely,’ imparted to believers as “the gift of God(Eph. 2:8-9) … that is… to those who will believe to ‘receive’ Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power [Gk. exousia, privilege] to become the sons of God [as God’s living offspring], even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12 (KJV)

Since Christ has already died to pay for all the sins of all mankind…  it is only the sin of REJECTING God’s ‘forgiveness that keeps them from receiving God’s gift of Eternal Life.

The precious blood and death of Christ at the Cross was the price He paid for us to have His Eternal Life. This “life” is the very life of ‘Christ Himself’for “He that hath the Son hath [His] life.”

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us [the believers] eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:11-12 (KJV)

The word “life” here above is the Greek “zoe,” meaning, ‘God’s eternal spirit-life.’ The Son of God and His Eternal Resurrection Life are Inseparable. If a person has come to union with Christ, he then of course has Christ’s life.

“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit [with Him].” (1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)

With His “Spirit of life” we thereby receive His “divine nature” into our “spirit of man.”

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be Partakers of The Divine Nature [of Christ] …” (2 Peter 1:4a (KJV)

This that is discussed herein is in accord with ‘God’s eternal plan’ for providing mankind a just and righteous salvation making them ‘His children.’ Every person can take it or leave it, but no man can change the terms of God’s plan for man’s salvation. God’s plan is according to His justice that is rooted in His righteousness nature.

Our ‘sin-debt’ had to be paid by a ‘sinless offering for the sins of the world… and that was been accomplished by Jesus Christ at the Cross … for us. Our sins disqualify us from self-redemption… none of us can save ourselves.

God’s plan required the ‘innocent blood of the ‘innocent sin-offering of Jesus’ as “the lamb of God” dying for us … in order to be ‘forgiven’ and ‘reconciled’ unto God.

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission [of sins].” (Hebrews 9:22 (KJV)

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29 (KJV)

Thus, “… we have redemption through his [Jesus’s] blood, the ‘forgiveness of sins,’ according to the riches of his grace;” (Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
