God Is Not Far From Us

If you read the lives of great saints of God you find that when they came to see their union with Christ in them their lives were forever changed. Paul said;

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To Reveal His Son In Me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Galatians 1:15-16 (KJV))

And so it is of all believers… He indwells every member of “His body.”

Yet, most believers attempt to live their Christian life as being separate from Christ in their thinking toward the Lord. For instance, when a crisis situation or circumstance comes to them, a sudden sorrow, a sudden disaster, they may humbly say, “God permitted this to happen to me.” But that is somewhat of a wrong view. While He is the sovereign over our lives in every situation that comes our way, God is not away from us, deciding whether to permit or not to permit that which occurs. No, He, by Christ in us, shares in every situation of our lives! Our lives and situation are common to all men and He uses these happenings for our eternal good, hat we might grow in the Knowledge of His “who is our life” … that Hs is our all.

13 There hath no temptation [trial of life] taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

God “permitting or not permitting” would means that God is up there deciding and we’re down here alone ‘having to endure whatever He sends our way.’

For we who have received the Pauline Gospel of Christ in you the hope of glory,” we know God isn’t up there, rather God by Christ’s “Spirit of life” is in usin our spirit, as our new and overcoming life. And He by His life in us is operating within us as “the way” to endure in peace and rest … as we pass through the circumstances and situations of life.

Since the day that I first saw how that Christ literally lived in me (in 1975), I’ve never lifted my eyes to heaven to try and get Him to assist me down herefrom up there. He redeemed me by His Precious Blood and deposited “His Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus” into my “spirit of man” where we are forever “one spirit” (1Cor 6:17).

I don’t waste my breath with such petitions or request. Why should I waste my time trying to get a Him to come down when He already is present living in me all the time? I know Him who indwells my being as my bulwark and my life.

It is a comfort and consolation to know that He uses every situation and circumstance “for the good” – that is… for my eternal good in accord with His eternal plan.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:28-29 (KJV)

He is always diligently working in our lives in accord with His will and He will be successful in His objectives.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 (KJV)
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ [at the Rapture]: Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
