How Can a Jew Be Saved Today?

The short answer to the titled question is this. A Jew today can be saved in exactly the very same way a Gentile can be saved today. There is no distinction among men during today’s age of “the dispensation of the grace of God.” I will explain why this is true.

The Bible presents several dispensational ages in which God has dealt with people differently than in other dispensational ages, presenting different requirements fort salvation. This must be understood if we are to “rightly divide the word of truth” (2Tim. 2:15) as to what applies to who and when.

The dispensational age previous to our present “dispensation of the grace of God” was Israel’s dispensation of “the Mosaic Law” under which Israel was distinctly set “above all people” (Exo. 19:5). When one dispensational age ends the next come to the fore. You cannot have two dispensations active at one time. Israel’s God ordained “law” and its “prophecy program” has today been put into abeyance…. while the present Gentile “dispensation of the grace of God” is now in force, but only UNTIL it ends with the Rapture of the Gentile church, which “the Apostle to the Gentiles,” Paul, called “the body of Christ.”

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery [God-planned secret], lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in [with the Rapture]. Romans 11:25 (KJV)

The Nation Israel had been declared by the LORD to be a special people group. God first gave birth to the Nation Israel and set Israel “above all people” on earth (Exo. 19:5). Israel’s passing through the Red Sea is one of the most exciting milestone events of great importance to the nation. It rid the Israelites, once for all, of Pharaoh’s dominion. It also released them from their obligation to return to Egypt, after traveling three days journey into the Sinai wilderness. This was, in fact, the birth of the Nation Israel. The LORD said;

5 Now therefore, if ye [Israel] will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye [ALL Israelites as a Nation] shall be a peculiar treasure unto me ABOVE ALL PEOPLE: for all the earth is mine: Exodus 19:5 (KJV)

From the time of Exodus 19:5, until During today’s Gentile age whereby all men and women are seen equal as Gentiles even if they are Jews. Previously, God dealt with men on the basis of the God-made distinction between Jew and Gentile. Jews were intended to be God’s agents in the world and a Gentile would have to approach God through Israel and it program of “the Law,” as proselytes.

Yet, today in God’s eyes the “Nation Israel” isfallen, cast away, and blinded,” set aside for a time (cf. Rom. 11:10-12, 15, 25). The corporate Nation of Israel is no longer considered by God to be special Nation or elevated “above all the people” of the earth.

Regarding individual Israelites,’ often called ‘Jews,’ now, since ‘the fall of Israel’ and the formation of the Gentile “body of Christ,” are seen by God to be ‘just as lost as any lost Gentiles.’ All men are in need of salvation in accord with Paul’s “gospel of the grace of God” during today’s “dispensation of the Grace of God” (Eph 3:2).

Paul wrote that there is NO difference among lost humans today, regardless of their raceduring today’s grace-age of “dispensation of the grace of God.” Thus, Paul wrote;

10 As it is written, There is NONE righteous, no, not one [no Jew and no Gentile]: Romans 3:10 (KJV)
23 For ALL [both Jew and Gentile] have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom. 3:23 (KJV)

In our study of the Bible, we must recognize that there is a difference between “the Nation Israel” and individual “Israelites” or “Jews.” In Paul’s day there were certain believing Israelites who had followed Jesus. Paul refers to as Israel’s remnant” [Rom. 11:5, below] and “the elect” who were saved by their Faith in their Messiah, Jesus. Read the verses below carefully and see how Paul explains that though the ‘Nation Israel’ has fallen for Killing God’s prophets, Killing Jesus, and Stephen (Acts 7) there was “a remnant” (cf. Jesus’ “little flock,” Luke 12:32) who had believed in Jesus as Messiah and were saved by God’s grace.

1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people [individually]? GOD FORBID.

For I [Paul] also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath NOT cast away his people [individually] which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God AGAINST ISRAEL [the Nation], saying, Romans 11:1-2 (KJV)

3 Lord, they [the Nation] have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal [in idolatry].

5 Even so then at THIS PRESENT TIME [during the grace dispensation] also there is A REMNANT according to the ELECTION of GRACE. 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11:3-6 (KJV)

7 What then? ISRAEL [THE NATION] HATH NOT obtained that which he seeketh for; BUT THE ELECTION [CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS BELIEVING ISRAELITES] HATH OBTAINED IT, and the Rest Were Blinded Romans 11:7 (KJV), [cf. Rom. 11:25]

32 [Jesus said] Fear not, LITTLE FLOCK [Israel’s believing remnant]; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32

So, it is only the “Nation Israel that was and is “fallen, cast away, and blinded,” NOT the individual Israelite/Jew.

What about today, about 2,000 years later? The only way an individual Jew can be saved TODAY is in accord with Paul’s “gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24, Act 16:31).

31 And they [Paul and Silas] said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, … Acts 16:31a (KJV)

Today Israel as a Nation remains “fallen, cast away, and blinded,” until today’s grace age concludes with the Rapture [v25 below]:

10 Let their [Israel’s] eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but RATHER THROUGH THEIR FALL SALVATION IS COME UNTO THE GENTILES, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Now if the fall of them [Israel] be the riches of the world, and THE DIMINISHING OF THEM [Israel’s] the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? Romans 11:10-12 (KJV)
15 For if the CASTING AWAY OF THEM [ISRAEL] be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? Romans 11:15 (KJV)

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of THIS MYSTERY [Grk. musterion, secret], lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that BLINDNESS IN PART IS HAPPENED TO ISRAEL [the Nation], UNTIL THE FULNESS OF THE GENTILES BE COME IN [at the RAPTURE]. Romans 11:25 (KJV)

Today an individual Israelite/Jew can be saved as Gentiles under Paul’s grace gospel for ALL Gentiles – and since all lost Jews are now equal with lost Gentiles they qualify also as Gentiles. There are no more racial distinctions under God’s pure grace gospel.

28 There is Neither Jew Nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye [the grace believers] are ALL one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28 (KJV)

11 Where there is Neither Greek Nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and In All. Colossians 3:11 (KJV)
