How Do We Practically Live by The Faith of Christ In Us?

Make it practical; how is it that we can live by Christ’s faith?

Gal.2:20 “…… and the life which I now live in the [human] flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God…”

There is a simplicity in Christ;

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3)

Faith and belief are somewhat interchangeable words: In the Bible, 'faith' is expressed simply 'believing' God’s words.

It is important to realize that “faith” is the noun and “believe” the verb. This is seen in the key elements of Romans 4:5, where the Apostle Paul declares:

“To him [to the believer] that worketh NOT [does not trust in his own religious works, cf. Titus 3:5a, Rom. 11:6]

but [rather] believeth on Him [Jesus Christ] that justifieth the ungodly [causes the sinner to be counted as ‘innocentthrough His cross-work],

his faith is counted [credited to him] for righteousness [right standing before God].”

This passage from I John 5:4-5 also makes it plain that faith and belief apply equally.

“This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (5) Who is he that overcometh the world but he that believeth [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact] that Jesus is the Son of God.”

Belief is a gift from God:

John 6:29; Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of [from] God, that ye believe on him [trust in Jesus Christ] whom he [Father God] hath sent.

  • The first truth of John 6:29 is that … the one ‘work’ that God wants the believer to do, is to believe on [trust in, cling to] the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • A further truth in this John 6:29 is that “it is the work of God, that ye believe, so, this is not our work.

We must just choose to use the ‘belief’ that God has given us. This is the same as God dealing “to every man the measure of faith (Rom.12:3).

In practice we are to simply apply the faith of the Christ that is of Him Within Us by using our gift of believing!

Truth is; it is easy to believe! What a comfort to know that as we exercise our God-given belief, Christ’s faith is in action!

In grace, the only faith that pleases Father, is Christ’s faith, exercised by our believing.
