Part 3 – Why Two Programs?

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called The Prophetic Program and The Mystery Program.

Before we get into the specifics of the Mystery Program’ and Prophetic Program,’ we need to understand why two programs are necessary. Some might ask, “Why there are two programs.” Couldn’t God have managed to accomplish His purpose in creation by using one single program?” Indeed, God is God, so He could have done anything He wanted.

However, according to the Bible, God created the universe with thedual realms of “the heaven and the earth.” “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1). This is because God has a twofold ultimate purpose in His dual creation, thus He has a twofold plan and way of dealing with His creation… unto the consummation.

So, God has two programs, one program corresponding to each of these realms. The Mystery program is for God’s recovery of “the heavenly places,” and the Prophetic program is for God’s recovery of the Earth. When we read and study “the word of God,” it is absolutely imperative that we keep these ‘two programs’ separate! Thus, Paul wrote instructing us as to how we should study the Bible. “Study … rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

  • According to the ‘Mystery program’ of God, according to the Apostle Paul, “the church the body of Christ” will be Raptured to heaven with Christ, where the members of “His body” will occupy the currently polluted places of rank and authority, then reigning in the government of “the heavens” (cf. 2Tim. 2:12). God will then have recovered “the heavenly places.”
  • According to the ‘Prophetic program’ of God, at Christ’s 2nd coming the believers of Israel will occupy the places of rank and authority in the government, reigning on “the earth” (Matt. 19:28, Rev 5:10, 20:6). God will then have recovered all authority “the earth.”

In this way God will have reestablished His authority in both “the heaven and the earth” with Jesus Christ reigning in and through His two people groups.

“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even (that is) in him:” (Ephesians 1:10)

If we do not divide the information in the Bible, which God Himself has divided, there’s no way for us figure out God’s eternal overarching plan.

So, lest you think that “right division of the word” really doesn’t matter, just consider how that all the tens of thousands of contradicting “Christian” denominations could have spared themselves so much confusion, and the embarrassment they’ve cast upon Christianity, had they simply … “rightly divided the word of truth!” so as to not misapply the information belonging one program of Godto the other program of God.

Therefore, most commonly, Christians today are confused by mixing what in the Bible applies to Israel’s ‘Prophetic program’ for the Messianic kingdom to come “on earth” … with God’s ‘Mystery program’ for the heaven-bound “Church, the body of Christ” (Philippians 3:20-21).
