Part 4 – The Heavens Will Be Purified

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called “In Heavenly Places”.

Here in the book of Job, the world’s oldest book and the first written in the Bible, we see details of the polluted heavens that the Lord will soon cleanse of the fallen, corrupted, evil, angelic host.

“Behold, he (God) putteth no trust in his saints; yea, The Heavens Are Not Clean in his sight(Job 15:15). “Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, The Stars Are Not Pure in his sight” (Job 25:5).

Who are these “stars”? Are these “stars” rational beings capable of sinning? These not pure stars are the one-third of angels who chose to follow Lucifer in his rebellion; they will be cast to the earth in the mid-Tribulation, and later into “the lake of fire” that Jesus said was “created for the Devil and his angels.”

“And his (Satan’s) tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” (Rev. 12:4)

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (Matthew 25:41)
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9)

The Bible’s opening verse says God “created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). Now we know that God originally created and intended for there to also be a governmental structure… “in the heaven and on the earth.” The offices of rank and authority in human government on earth today (no matter how corrupted we see it is) gives us the idea governmental structures for the implementation of God’s authority.

by him (Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, (the) visible and (the) invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things (these offices) were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist (stand).” (Col. 1:16-17)

The “all things” noted here above are not things like chairs and tables, in context these refers to the listed offices of governmental or kingdom structure, called “thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers.” (Col. 1:16-17) (NOTE: I describe and define each rank and ‘office’ in my Study Series, called “The Dynaspheres,” which may be seen at www.artlicursi.com.)

So, there are the various offices of government both “in the heaven and in the earth.” Just as we see secular offices of government on planet earth today, similar ranks of office and authority are in Heaven. But, in “Heavenly places” these offices and their occupants are “invisible” (Col. 1:16). Yet, the unseen of heaven is a real and organized “place,” with angelic beings holding jobs and performing various tasks of governance affecting the heaven and the earth, and ultimately the whole universe.

Recall that from “the beginning” God intended for man to function in earth’s government… for His glory. Notice here the words “Dominion… Replenish… Subdue… Replenish.”

“God said, Let us (the Triune God) make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them (mankind) have Dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth (the Serpent). 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and Replenish the earth, and Subdue it: and have Dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Gen. 1:26-28)

But Adam, the first man, soon sinned and lost his place as God’s ‘King of the Earth.’ We know that before man ever sinned, there was already rebellion going on in the government of Heaven… Lucifer had rebelled. And by his trickery, he drew one third of the angelic host to rebel with him, and he was then able to extend that rebellion into “the heart of man,” which also now “is wickedly deceitful.”

“How art thou fallen from (the highest) heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13For thou hast said in thine heart, I WILL ascend into heaven, I WILL exalt my throne above the stars (Angels) of God: I WILL sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I WILL ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL be like the most High.” (Isaiah 14:12-14 (KJV) – NOTE: “Lucifer” has been struck from most all modern translations)

Here below we have God speaking to “the King of Tyrus,” but more specifically, He is talking to the evil spirit working behind “the King of Tyrus.” God is talking to Satan, Lucifer, who is described here.

“Son of man (Ezekiel), take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, Till Iniquity Was Found In Thee. 16By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground (Heb. eres, the earth), I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.” (Ezekiel 28:12-19)

Verse 16 says Lucifer merchandised (marketed) his plan of rebellion, enticing one-third of God’s angelic host to rebel against God with him. These are the evil “fallen angels.” They, with Satan, fell from the Third heaven (God’s throne) to the Lower heaven. “And he (Jesus) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven” (Luke 10:18).

Returning to Job, we read: “Behold, he (God) putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight” (Job 15:15). “Behold …, the stars (the unclean angels) are not pure in his sight” (Job 25:5). In context, these verses refer to fallen angels. Remember, Satan is persecuting Job, and Job is aware of the angelic conflict, the battle between God and Satan, and the battle between good angels and Satan’s angels.

Now we see why the Apostle Paul wrote of “spiritual wickedness in high places(Eph. 6:12).

The “High places” here above is synonymous with heavenly places” (cf. Eph. 1:3; 2:6). Today outer space is filled with the activities of Satan and his minions.’ Thus, Ephesians 2:2 calls Satan “the prince of the power of the air.” In a day soon coming, they will be kicked out of heaven (Rev. 12:7-11) and we of “the body of Christ” will take their “places” of rank and authority in the heavenly government. It’s for this reason that (God) hath raised us up together, and made us (to) ‘sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” (Eph. 2:6).

The “heavens” in Job 15:15 and 25:5 are not talking about the physical planets in outer space as having sinned. Rather, it is “the heavens” with respect to the evil angelic beings functioning there. Their “place” will be found no more in heaven, by the time we arrive and take up Christ’s authority in “the heavenly places. That means these evil beings still currently have access to outer space (the second heaven) today. They will not be confined to “the pit” (and then later “the lake of fire”) until Jesus Christ returns in power and great glory at His 2nd Coming.

God will re-establish His universal kingdom in the heavenly places” when we are “caught up” into heaven at the Rapture. He will remove the evil angelic powers from heaven, and install us, “the Church… the Body of Christ” in their places. Then, after the Tribulation, when Jesus Christ returns to earth, He will remove the evil unclean spirits from the land of Israel and the earth, and later cast them into “the lake of fire.” Thus, Ephesians 1:10 will be fulfilled: “That in the Dispensation of The Fulness of Times (at the end of all dispensational ages) he (God) might gather together in one all things (all authority) in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him.”

Originally, Father God wanted heaven and earth to glorify His Son, Jesus Christ (cf. Eph. 1:9-10), so He created angels (for heaven) and humans (for earth) to carry out His will. But after both the angels and man had sinned… God created the nation Israel (to restore His authority on earth) and “the Church the Body of Christ” (to restore His authority in heaven).

Now we know what the Devil knows and why he hates us; we will take the “place” of him and his cohorts in heavenly places,” to co-rule with and by Christ in “the heavens” for eternity. Why do you and I exist?  It’s for us to reign, as “the birthed sons of God,” in the heavenly government and thereby glorify the Glorious Lord Jesus Christ!
