Part 4 - A New and Different Plan of God for “the Body of Christ.”

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called The Place of Israel In God’s Eternal Plan.

Thus we’ve established the uniqueness of Paul’s apostleship. What he taught was entirely different than everything that came before him. We are living during an interruption of Israel’s prophetic program. This is a period of pure grace for the members of “the Body of Christ,” separate from Israel’s kingdom program.

Now that we’ve established all that, what comes next is the “manifestation” or “appearing” of “the faithful” members of “His body” “WITH HIM IN GLORY” as seen hear in these verses among others.

Col. 3:4 When Christ, Who Is Our Life, Shall APPEAR, then shall ye also APPEAR With Him In [Heaven’s] Glory.
Phil 3:20-21 For our conversation [Old English for ‘citizenship’] is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious Appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the APPEARING of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel [of the grace of God]:
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his APPEARING and his kingdom;
2 Timothy 4:8
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that LOVE HIS APPEARING.

These believers, at any moment and in a moment, shall all be changed.” We shall all be transformed out of our sin-corrupted bodies into our perfect, glorious, incorruptible, eternal, heavenly spirit-bodies! This will be a secret and quiet resurrection (no trumpets or voices to be heard). This will occur sometime before the believers of Israel, and Jesus’ Gentile whosoever” believers, will meet the Lord in the air [atmosphere]” at His 2nd coming to “purge out the rebels” of Israel and the world, and to then set up His millennial kingdom. These “whosoever” Gentiles believers and the Israelite believers will populate the earth forever.

Our “appearing with Him in [heaven’s] Glory,” (Col 3:4) is not to be confused with Jesus’ John 3:16 “whosoever” believers [Gentiles] who in fact will resurrect with Israel to meet the Lord in the air [atmosphere]” (1Thes 4:17) and return to the Millennial kingdom on earth. When The Lord Jesus comes again, “in wrath” and “vengeance” He will first save Israel and her Gentile proselytes from annihilation, then “purge out the rebels of Israel and of the world, and then set up His Millennial kingdom on earth.

We also have in these passages the doctrine of imminence. This may happen at any moment.

In other words, behold, brethren, suddenly and in a billionth of a second, we shall all be transformed into our glorious incorruptible, eternal, heavenly bodies! This is the endgame to the entire age of grace! This is what God the Father predestinated for “the Body of Christ” before the creation of the universe, that is, the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our bodies! This is the moment that ends for “the Body of Christ” our earthly lives, and begins for us our heavenly lives literally in the presence of God Himself. This is the moment in which the corruptible puts on incorruption and we mortals finally put on immortality.

This is the endgame of the cross for “the Body of Christ.” Because of the cross, we’ve been delivered from the consequence of sin. Because of the cross, we’ve been delivered from the power of sin.

At our “appearing with Him in [heaven’s] Glory,” (Col 3:4), when we the redemption of our bodies, we will finally be delivered from the presence of sin that is latent within our flesh (Rom. 8:3).

Our ‘appearing with Him’ is the victorious finale to what the Lord had set out to accomplish for us on the cross. This ‘appearing’ is when the faithful of the Body of Christ come together as one, in our glorified, eternal, heavenly spirit-bodies, when we as His body are spiritually joined to Christ “the Head.” We then will literally be with the Lord for all eternity. The appearing of His body with Him as the Head is the ultimate victory of the cross for all of us as members of “the Body of Christ.” At the our “appearing with Him” all the horrors of sin, disease, and death will be swallowed up in His victory for us at Calvary. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I love that Paul says that God the Father giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Words in the KJV with an ‘eth’ at the end means “a continual state of being” – i.e., continueth. The Father continually gives us that victorywhich lasts for all eternity.

The members of “body of Christ” “appearing with Him in [heaven’s] Glory,” will occur about 21 years before the 2nd coming of Christ based upon the number of Lo-ammi years that remain.

The “Ages to Come”: Here’s a Very Brief Summary of The Events To Come.

DAY ONE of the Tribulation. We have the epic scene in the throne room of God (Rev. 4) and the four angels on the four corners of the Earth while a fifth angel marks out the 144,000 (Rev. 7:1-8) of the 12 tribes of Israel. We have the revealing of “the man of sin,” “the son of perdition,” also called the antichrist,” who will confirm the covenant with Israel for seven years (cf. Dan. 9:27). You also have the immediate appearance of the two witnesses (Rev. 11:1-14) who will fulfill all kinds of epic prophesies and destruction for 3 ½ years.

Then we have the opening of the 7 seals (Rev. 5), which is “the beginning of sorrows” (Matt. 24:8), which includes the ‘four horsemen of the apocalypse’ (Rev. 5:1-8). After that, the rest of the seal judgments are seen in Rev. 6:9-17, 8:1-5.

Then we have the seven trumpet judgments.’ These bring about multiple, global earthquakes (Rev. 6:12, 8:5, 11:13, 11:19, balls of fire out of Heaven (Rev. 8:5), hail that’s literally on fire mingled with blood (Rev. 8:7), the heaven departing as a scroll (Rev. 6:14), which would surely destroy all satellites, the sun turns black, the moon turns blood red, the stars fall from heaven (Rev. 6:12, 8:12), all grass burns up (Rev. 8:7), a lot of trees are gone (Rev. 8:7), the water turns to blood (Rev. 8:8, 11:6). Then there are the freaky locusts with stingers getting into everything (Rev. 9:1-12), AND, last but not least, there will be 200 million fiery horses from Heaven shooting fire and brimstone out of their mouths (Rev. 9:12-21). There is so much more detail that you can read for yourself.

Then mid-week, at 3 ½ years into the 7-year tribulation, with the blowing of the 7th trumpet, which lasts throughout the final half of the Tribulation (Rev. 11:15-19).

We also have at the mid-way point the death of the two God-sent witnesses and their resurrection (Rev. 11:1-14), then the “war in Heaven,” when Satan and his minions ‘cast down to the Earth’ (Rev. 12:7-17). Then, we have the Abomination of Desolation, the ‘woman and the dragon’ of Rev. 12:1-6), followed by the global messages given by the 3 angels (Rev. 14:6-13), and that’s followed by the Antichrist’s one world system with the “Mark Of The Beast” requirement for anyone to buy and sell.

What follows is the final 3-1/2 year “great tribulation” of Matt. 24:21 with the final seven ‘bowl’ judgments (Rev. 16), bringing horrors the likes of which this world has never seen nor will see. Then, we have the destruction of ‘Babylon the great’ – ‘Mystery Babylon the Mother of Harlots’ (Rev. 18). At the end of it all – we have the great battle of Armageddon with the arrival of the Lord Jesus Christ in His Second Coming (Rev. 19:11-21). He will destroy them all from the brightness of His glory (2 Thes. 2:8). Satan and his minions will then be bound and sealed in the pit for 1,000 years (Rev. 20:1-3).

Among the resurrections in their order, the Lord will first resurrect all the saints of time past (Ezek. 37:12), giving them rewards and positions in the kingdom on earth (Ezek. 20, Psa. 50).

Then the Lord will judge the nations; that is the still living sheep” believers will go “into the barn,” and the “goats’ go “into the fire (cf. Matt. 25:31-46) to be consumed. No unbelievers will enter the Millennium.

Then, finally, we have the establishment of His long-promised 1,000-year kingdom. While Israel will inherit the uttermost parts of the Earth (Psa. 2:8), we of His Gentile body of Christ will have already been “seated in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 2:6) judging the earth and angels (1 Cor. 6:2-3).

At the end of those 1,000 years, Satan will be loosed, to then deceive the nations of sin-cursed mortals, to enter the one final showdown battle with Gog and Magog in which they will all be destroyed. What then follows is the ‘Great White Throne Judgment’ (Rev. 20:11-15). The New Heaven and the New Earth (Rev. 21:1), and the…New Jerusalem, when the Bride of Christ, will come down to this Earth (Rev. 21).
