There’s nothing new about atheism.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” – Psalm 14:1

Despite the way some use this verse God is not name-calling. In the modern collapse of our English language the meaning of many words has been lost. Here is the Biblical definition of a fool:

“The fear [moral reverence] of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” – Proverbs 1:7

You may have heard it said that an ignorant man is someone who knows he lacks understanding, but a foolish man is someone who knows it all and still lacks understanding. Neither is it a new thing for many fundamentalist preachers to quote Proverbs 1:7 while sticking with the confusing and contradictory doctrine they sometimes preach and teach. The Apostle to the Gentiles, Paul (Rom. 11:13) spoke often of understanding, and enlightenment that comes by “the word of truth.”

Only when we know and understand our Bible ‘dispensationally’ then we have no more contradiction or confusion.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

Atheists Know It All:

Atheists will always try to deny their own foolishness and lift themselves up as those who “know.” The Bible teaches that God existed before the physical world was and that He is invisible, and so He not to be studied empirically, by means of observation.

So, the only way someone can claim to know that God does not exist is if they claim to know it all. This is very unreasonable.

The belief system of an atheist requires that they be smarter than those 'ignorant Christians.’ Should we really take these all-knowing ones and put them in charge of our countries, charities, and school systems. Wait, we already have.

• Most should agree that every human ever observed was born of other imperfect humans, why would someone think otherwise.
• What about value? How do we know what is important, or right, or true? Is it really by majority vote?
• An atheist has answers to all of these questions and none of them make sense. That is called ‘foolishness.’

The Bigger Fools:

But not all the worlds’ fools are atheists. There are many Christians who behave and believe very foolishly, not knowing the truth of “the word of truth.” Choosing tradition over the written “the word of truth.” What is tradition except corrupt manmade ideas that have been entrenched over time? Yet tradition is a part of most of Christendom even today.

Paul even rebukes the Galatian believers who had become swayed by the tradition of Israel’s time past. Most believe religious tradition as it they had been bewitched, as under a convincing spell.

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, …” – Gal 3:1

To the Ephesian believers Paul wrote:

“See then that ye walk circumspectly, Not As Fools, but as wise” – Ephesians 5:15

All too often, ‘Christian fools’ reject the idea of serious sound doctrinal Bible study in favor of their own emotions and the feel-good man-centered manmade religion of most of today’s denomination. They refuse to follow what “God” put in their hearts when they were regenerated.

Foolishly, they essentially claim to know a better way than Bible study to learn about … what God has really said to and concerning what applies to who? In ignorance most Christians do not know or understand that God has two distinctly different people groups;

• the “Nation Israel” who will ultimately co-reign with Christ on the earth
• and that of … the Gentile “church, the body of Christ” who is destined to co-reign with Christ in “the heavenly places” (Ephesians (1:3, 20; 2:6; 3:10; 6:12).

Thus, noting what Biblically applies to each of these two groups is DIFFERENT.

But Sadly:

“A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.” – Prov 18:2

Instead they have laid aside their brains in vanity to search their hearts for the false god of their emotions.

The fact is that the Christian life does not successfully work on the basis of ignorance. Thus, the ignorant most often choose teachers that make them “feel good” emotionally, leading them astray. Paul warned Timothy of this fact.

“For the time will come when They Will Not Endure Sound Doctrine; but after their own lusts [desires] shall they heap to themselves [choosing] teachers, having itching ears;” - 2 Timothy 4:3

We Need the Bible and Our Brains:

Long ago atheists had made the claim of “higher understanding” while Christians traded in their understanding of the Truth of “the word of God.” They prefer useless religious externalities such as wearing a ‘Jesus cross necklace, majestic religious music, incense, and other accoutrements, along with religious rites and rituals, not to mention the corrupt traditions they enjoy.

Both have the Atheist and the Christian fools have left the Bible and their brains in the basement.

Both are fools, but sadly, the gospel suffers more harm from foolish unlearned Christians than the fools who say there is ‘no God.’

Only when Christianity is able offer intelligent answers to the doctrinal confusion of the hundreds of denominations and their vain religious traditions… will the atheist’s belief system crumble. 

Until then, the present Christendom we see will remain a pathetic, disgraceful, representation of … our Lord’s Cross-work to reconcile fallen mankind to Himself, His people, His plan, and His eternal purpose.

It is time to get back to intelligent Christianity. Pick up your Bible and turn on your brain, trusting the invisible Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth of His “word of truth.” It is the only way to learn about God and to “know God” personally.
