Justification, Its Meaning and Application

In “the word of truth,” the Bible, ‘Justification by faith’ is one of the great promises of God. Our being declared innocent by God is based upon such verses as… Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Rom. 5:6 “Christ died for the ungodly.” Rom. 5:8 “Christ died for us while we were yet sinners.” Jesus Christ “was the [foreordained sacrificial] Lamb of God.” to pay our sin-debt. Jn. 1:29 … Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

‘Reconciliation’ is the first key, as defined here in 2 Cor. 5:19. “...that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing [not counting] their trespasses [sins] against them.” But this great truth is not fully recognized by many Christians today. Stated simply, ‘As Far As God Is Concerned, All Barriers To Salvation Have Already Been Removed.’ So, today any person may step up and… believe, to freely receive the Gift of “Everlasting Life.” God’s purpose in “reconciling for the world to Himself” first, is to give us the opportunity to receive the Gift of Salvation and Christ’s resurrected “Everlasting Life” as our new life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye SAVED Through Faith; and that not of yourselves: It Is The GIFT Of God: 9 Not of works [not based upon religious rituals, rites, or good works], lest any man should boast.

The unbeliever is instructed; “be ye reconciled” to God. Sin is “enmity against God,” and those who persist in sin often build up walls of their own, separating themselves from God. They need to know… There Is No Wall On God’s Part. So, the path is clear, that all people may have access to God and can have “peace with God” by faith in Christ, as set forth so beautifully in God’s Word.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being Justified By Faith, we have Peace With God through [the sacrifice of] our Lord Jesus Christ:

The word tells us “we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Eph. 1:7)

Caution: Many mistakenly teach that since all men’s sins are forgiven, then all men must have “Everlasting Life.” That is not necessarily true. The Everlasting Life is “in Christ,” and only “he that hath the Son hath life” (1Jn. 5:12). The freely offered ‘forgiveness of sins’ simply qualifies us to then receive His “Everlasting Life” by faith in Christ. The word ‘life’ here is the Greek zōē, meaning the spirit-life of Christ, His own resurrected “spirit of life” … to then govern us from within (cf. Rom. 8:2).

Simply living a decent life is not save us or prompt Everlasting Life; rather, it one’s faith in The Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, that gives us ‘His life.’

John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish [be destroyed], but have [His] everlasting life.

Justification Comes Only By ‘Faith Alone’ In ‘Christ Alone’: We find ‘Justification by faith’ first mentioned about 4,000 years ago, here below. Gen 15:6. Abraham believed God, and it was imputed [counted] to him for righteousness. Just as Abraham, the believer today, by faith, has Christ’s imputed righteousness.

Such as believer receives the ‘Gift of Christ’s Life’ mentioned earlier, but also has The Hope of Resurrection, … and he will receive rewards as he learns to walks in “The Light” We have the “light” of Christ as the innermost deposit of His ever-present “Spirit of life of Christ Jesus” indwelling our “spirit of man.” Christ’s Holy “Spirit of life” in us is ‘the living law of our life’ (Rom. 8:2). We have no external laws as were given to Israel. God nailed the Law to Christ’s cross; Colossians 2:14 [Christ was] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances [laws] that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Now we enjoy His living law…  Romans 8:2 2 For the [living] law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and [that calls for] death.

There are many who seek “everlasting life” only to escape from an imaginary punishment in the hereafter, laboring under false religious demands. But how many seek the imputed righteousness which is of faith? Read through Hebrews 11 and note all the people who obtained this imputed righteousness “by faith,” believing, and then acting on what God had said. Those believers of today’s Spiritual Gentile “Church, which is His Body” (Eph. 1:22b-23a) will enjoy that ‘special gift’ as our eternal destiny, which is not on earth… but “in the heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 1:3).  Phili. 3:20 For our conversation [Old English for ‘citizenship’] is in heaven; from whence also we look for [the appearing of] the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
