It was not until he had finished his general studies and begun his theological training, in the Netherlands, did he experience a conversion of heart. In a letter to his parents, Murray wrote, "Your son has been born again. … I have cast myself on Christ." This "casting of the self" became Murray's life theme. Sixty years of ministry in the Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa, more than 200 books and tracts on Christian spirituality and ministry, extensive social work, and the founding of educational institutions—all these were outward signs of the inward grace that Murray experienced by continually casting himself on Christ. "May not a single moment of my life be spent outside the light, love, and joy of God's presence," was his prayer. "And not a moment without the entire surrender of myself as a vessel for him to fill full of his Spirit and his love."

Note: This is not to diminish Mr Stam's writings, for we highly regard his exegesis of the Scripture. - Mr. Stam uses the NIV, which in many cases radically conflicts with the KJV. - Since his articles were brief to fit the liitations of a newpaper column at the time they were written, several of his articles have been adapted to add detail for clarity, by Arthur J. Licursi. I highly recommend his many expository books explaining Bible truth "rightly divided."

Norman Grubb

Norman Grubb was the son of an Irish Anglican clergyman, WWI soldier, Cambridge man, missionary, Bible translator, conference speaker, prolific author and avalanchine letter-writer. As a young zealot he joined the Heart of Africa Mission (HAM) led by his father-in-law, the radical pioneer missionary, C.T. Studd; and later became a disciple of revivalist Rees Howells, founder of the Bible College of Wales. During his time as the General Secretary of WEC Grubb began writing. To begin with he produced tracts and magazines for the mission, and then in 1933 he published a biography of C.T. Studd: C. T. Studd: Cricketer & Pioneer. After this came a string of other books, including his autobiography Once Caught, No Escape, and the pamphlet The Key to Everything. Other books penned by Grubb include Continuous Revival, Touching the Invisible, Rees Howells' Intercessor, Law of Faith, "The Liberating Secret", The Deep Things of God, God Unlimited, Spontaneous You, Who Am I?, and Yes I Am. Many of these books have recently been republished by Zerubbabel Press, and are available at their website, http://store.zerubbabel.org/ or on Amazon and Barnes and Noble online. NOTE: Norman Grubb is much appreciated except by me and many other sincere believers. Yet, he taught one significant, erroneous, unbiblical, notion. He taught that the Sin nature “in the flesh” of man was expelled or exchanged out when “the Spirit of Christ” came into the believer’s spirit. This idea defies the pure clear word of Paul who wrote our liberation from the Power of Sin. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Romans 8:3 (KJV) Paul tells us that our freedom from the Dominion and Power of Sin, the sin-nature, comes to us by our co-death with Christ. Thereby He freed us for the Power of Sin not from the Presence of “Sin in the flesh.” 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were [dry] baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: [so] that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this [truth of our co-death with Christ], that our old man is crucified with him, [so] that the body of sin might be destroyed [Gk. kartargeo, made of no effect, cf. Gal 5:4), that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is DEAD is FREED FROM SIN [sin’s dominion]. The Believer as a Container for God’s Life and Expression

Oscar M. Baker | May 14, 1898 - January 19, 1987 is renowned Bible Expositor of "the word of truth"... "rightly divided." All too few are the occasions in our day that we find a man who has borne such a lifelong testimony for God that we feel at liberty to align him with this portion of scripture. Still fewer are the times that we could ascribe such a word of tribute to this man, and also to his loving companion in life. Yet as we reflect on the exemplary witness of our dear brother and sister Baker, this word of tribute is but a small beginning of all that could be said in honor and thanksgiving to all they have meant to literally thousands of folks who have been blessed and influenced by their Christian service through the ministries of Truth For Today. The year was 1948. Mr. Baker was teaching a Bible class in his home. The desire and burden to share through the printed page what they had come to appreciate as truth for today lay heavy on their hearts. So in July of that year, the first issue of this little paper was mailed to about 150 homes in the township in which they resided. The spirit's blessing seemed to rest on this labor of love from the very beginning. By the end of the first year there were 300 names on the mailing list. Soon after, brother Baker went on the local radio station with a weekly Bible class. This he did for many years. Before the second anniversary of the paper, they began to make available to their readers the written works of men like E.W. Bullinger, Charles H. Welch, and others. Perhaps no other single outlet has placed more Companion Bibles than Truth For Today, Inc. Almost from the beginning folks sensed that they could find help with their Bible questions. Most wrote of course, but many came to their home; some for a few hours, others for a few days, and the Bakers were always ready to extend the richest of Christian hospitality and enlightening Bible studies to all who had sought their help. It was not long until the recording of audio tapes began to take hold. Brother Baker saw another opportunity to serve his Lord by making his Bible studies available to any and all for the asking. The next door of service came in the form of Bible Study Correspondence Courses offered to any who wanted to study with him in this manner. And yet with all this to keep up with he still found time to speak forth the Word of Truth "rightly dividing" in scores of churches, home classes, and Bible conferences, always willing and ready to enter any open door and share what he believed what was Truth For Today. Now perhaps the most remarkable aspect of all is that they never lived "from the gospel", rather always working to support themselves; teaching in the public schools, tutoring and teaching in his home, and of course, running his 80 acre dairy farm, and even on occasion taking other outside work when in need. At that time in life when most all of us are thinking of retiring and taking it easy, the Bakers viewed this as a time to go into full-time service, for now they wouldn't have to work so many hours "making tents" as he used to put it.
