The last great book of the Bible opens with the words: “The revelation of Jesus Christ” (Rev. 1:1) and from these words it derives its title: “The Revelation.” In this book of the Bible the Messianic Apostle John deals largely with the 2nd coming or return of Christ in glory to judge and then reign in His long-promised Millennial Kingdom on earth.
Many Christians spend great deal of time and effort trying to determine God’s will for them in a particular situation, often requiring a decision for what they face. They seek instruction or guidance from the Lord as to what they should do in the matter at hand.
The Christian life is simply Christ’s life operating in and through the believers. Christ Himself is the Christian within every believing child of God.
Romans 8:9-10 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
The following is not a semantic exercise but rather a meaningful discussion. Most new age Bibles use the word “imitate” in place of “follow,” which is used in the Kings James Version.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV).
The third verse of Jack P. Scholfield’s classic 1911 hymn, “Saved, Saved, Saved,” the truth of our Salvation.
“When poor and needy and all alone,
In love He said to me,
‘Come unto Me and I’ll lead you home,
To live with Me eternally.’”
Though man failed in each earlier dispensation, none of the dispensations prior to this present "dispensation of the grace of God" (Eph 3:2) should be considered a failure of God. God is eternally all knowing! He foreknew man's hopelessness and so prepared "from the foundation (beginning) of the world," by making provision of "the Lamb of God," Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of all mankind.
Jesus gave His life for ALL mankind, yet we must note that Jesus came only to "the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Mat 15:24). His earthly ministry was unto "the circumcision (Israel)" (Rom 15:8).
God sees every believer as being "in Christ" and as already in heaven.
Let's now see what the Bible says about this.
Paul wrote this to the Colossian believers who had already received Christ's salvation and the deposit of His eternal life into them.
