How To Approach The Bible
a 26-Part Study Series
By Arthur J Licursi
Note how the Bereans responded to hearing the words of the Apostle Paul’s preaching;
“… the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea...
11 These (Bereans) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word (that Paul preached) with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:10-11)
Then note how Lydia weighed Paul’s words;
“And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended (took heed) unto the things which were spoken of Paul.” (Acts 16:14)
Our reading of the Scriptures must lead us to the understanding and enlightenment necessary for God’s word to gain ground in us, in accord with the furtherance of His eternal plan for the heaven and the earth.
I pray the outcome of your reading of this study will enrich your Christian life by God blessing you with enlightenment, revelation, and understanding of His Holy “word of truth.”
May this study motivate you to be among those who He counts as “the faithful” (Eph. 1:1).
“16[I Paul] Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him [Christ]: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,” Ephesians 1:16-18 (KJV)
